Do I need to have a bachelor’s degree?
One spouse must have completed a bachelor's degree. If you do not have a bachelor’s degree, but have completed substantial/adequate/education of similar caliber you can apply with The Go Fund. Some education that may be considered that provides access to a people group that is unreached.
Why does my debt matter?
Debt is a huge hindrance to missions. It creates heavy burdens for missionaries who are often raising support and live off below average salaries. The Go Fund was started to remove these heavy burdens for our frontline workers. Many sending agencies have a cap on the student debt their missionaries can have, generally around $20,000 household student debt maximum. We believe this a good thing as sending indebted missionaries is not the answer. However, it creates a major barrier for qualified missionaries going overseas.

Can I apply if my debt is more than $100,000?
If you have over $100,000 and meet our other qualifications, we would recommend paying down your student debt to under $100,000 and then apply with The Go Fund.
Will The Go Fund pay debts I may accrue after I apply?
No, The Go Fund will only make payments toward the total student debt you have when you apply with The Go Fund. If you apply with The Go Fund and then attend university to get your masters degree, seminary degree, or any other education which leads to more student debt, The Go Fund would not include that in your total student debt amount. Acquiring more debt or not listing all debt in the application can be reasons for disqualification.
I have parent plus loans that I am responsible for paying back, do those count?
Household Debt includes your total student debt that is in your name. Parent plus loans that are not solely in your name cannot be included in your total debt amount upon application with us. Regardless of your responsibility to pay this debt back to your parents or to the loan company, your loans must be in your name alone.
What if I am working with Diaspora groups?
We do not partner with missionaries going to diaspora groups (Ex: reaching the people of Iraq in England). There are a few exceptions to this rule that would be determined if there is no way to access a people group in their native land. Please reach out to us if you believe your particular task falls into this category.
When should I apply with The Go Fund?
Please apply within 24 months of launching to the field in a long term capacity. If you have recently applied with a qualified sending agency, now would be a great time to apply with The Go Fund. If you have not yet decided on a sending agency nor applied with one, please begin that process simultaneously as applying with The Go Fund.
Can I apply while I am serving in a mid term capacity?
If you are near the end of your mid term (1-3 year) assignment and will be heading back to the field in approximately 24 months, you would be eligible to apply with The Go Fund. If you are more than 1-2 months away from returning from your mid term assignment, please wait until you are back in the United States to apply with The Go Fund.
How long is your application process?
Our goal is to get each applicant through our initial application process within 2 months. This initial process includes reference checks, credit checks, agency and pastor interviews, and a phone interview with our program associate. At the end of the two months, you will either be denied or moved forward to our selection committee.

When would The Go Fund begin making my student debt payments?
If you are accepted as an official partner of The Go Fund, we would begin making monthly payments toward your student debt once you get to the field to serve in your long term capacity.
“Involved in Church planting”, what does this mean?
Although there are many crucial roles to play among the unreached, The Go Fund partners with missionaries who will be directly involved in church planting among an unreached people group. We understand there are many ways and platforms to remain overseas, including Bible translation, support staff and equipping established indigenous churches. The end goal should be to evangelize, disciple and plant a healthy local church among an unreached people group.
