Apply for Student Debt Repayment

The Go Fund pays the monthly student debt payments of accepted candidates while they are serving long-term among the unreached. We begin to make monthly payments once our partners are actually working in their cross-cultural destination. Our target is to make the final payment toward the student loans of our partners at the end of the tenth year of service.

*What do we mean by “Church Planting?”

We are looking for applicants who are going to be actively involved in church planting through learning the language of their people group to fluency, sharing the gospel in that heart language, establishing a group of understanding / Christ confessing believers, (Acts 2:38-41, 11:25,26, I Cor. 12:12-13, Eph. 1:13, I Thess. 1:9) forming a church which has mature leadership that teaches, disciples and exhorts (Acts 6:2-4 14:23 20:28, I Tim 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-9 Heb. 13:7,17, I Peter 5:1-4), meeting regularly for biblical instruction, worship, practice of Christian ordinances (the Lord’s Supper and Baptism), sharing of resources and prayer relevant to that cultural context (Acts 8:12,36 16:33; Luke 22:14-22, I Cor. 14:29-33, Col. 1:28 II Tim. 4:1,2), and then see that church become self-sustaining and reproducing which could take 20+ years. Although, there are various approaches and methodologies to church planting, we fund those missionaries who are going to plant healthy, indigenous churches.

Tax Implications

Please note that under current IRS tax laws, payments we make toward student loans is considered taxable income. We will issue a 1099 form for each year in which the total payments toward student loans exceed $600.

Before Applying

Start the application process with a sending agency and ensure you are less than two years away from your intended departure date for the field (also acceptable: less than six months from beginning training with your sending agency).
